New York Republic Moors At 2014 African Fest in Brooklyn, New York

June 10th, 2014

A few of the students, members and Citizens in New York Republic (New York City) spent some time together during the holiday weekend in the month of May 2014 together to fellowship and do some missionary work. The African Fest is one of the big yearly events in King County (Brooklyn) that is attended by many tourists from out of town, people from around the world and people from throughout the city. The Moorish-Americans of subordinate Temple #1 gave out fliers, spoke to the people about nationality and birthrights and engaged the community. The Moors came across many people with many different backgrounds. Questions were asked by the masses about who the Moors were, why we wear the fez and turban, what our organization is about, nation and government building, civics, constitutional law, President Abraham Lincoln and much more. We must give honor to Prophet Noble Drew Ali for supplying the Moors with many literature and teachings so these questions can easily be answered. Even though it rained temporarily that day, the Moors still made the best of the day and enjoyed the arts, accessories, cultural display, music, food that was available and time with one another. Below are some pictures from that day.
