Some of the students, members and Citizens of the Moorish Science Temple The Divine and National Movement of North America, Inc; #13 The Moorish American National Republic in New York Republic (New York City) took some time to fellowship together over the weekend. The Moors spent some time at the American Museum of Natural History. The Moors when to many sections of the Museum that dealt with history in the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
While the Moors were enjoying themselves, learning and seeing visuals of the research, books and teachings they received, every now and then the Moors were approach by someone who wanted to take a picture of the Moors or with the Moorish Americans. Many people who were visiting from out of town, from another country or even from the city were very happy to see the Moorish Americans as a group doing public activity. Some of the people who wanted to take a picture with the Moorish Americans were from South America, Mexico, China and Taiwan, Turkey and other countries.
One man even came up to the Moors and asked if we spoke English. The man and his spouse who were from Mexico did not look at the Moorish Americans as being black, negro, colored, Afro African or African American; because the Moors was representing a culture, nation, had a headdress on and were well dressed. People at the museum automatically assume the Moorish Americans were from Africa or a Islamic country. The man and his wife took a picture with the Moorish Americans. As the Moors walked by you can hear people asking if the Moors were Turks; many just smiled as we walked by.
Interestingly enough while the Moors were again enjoying themselves at the museum, two guys actually from Turkey or the region of the former Ottoman Turk Empire actually approach the Moors. They told the Moors that they were not able to wear the fez in their country and was surprised to see the Moorish Americans wearing it here. The Turks were super happy to just speak with the Moors who knew their global history. One of the Turkish guys said at that moment, he was very proud to be an Ottoman Bey descendant. In two of the pictures below, you will see the two Turkish guys who took pictures with the Moorish Americans separately. Again, the two Turkish men did not look at the Moorish Americans as black, negro, colored, Afro American or African American, but actually Moors and ancient Turks. One of the Sheiks told the Turks, dont look down on our brother and sisters here in the Americas, they are descendant of the ancient Turks and Moors who had a global empire that fell, they are descendants of those great ones, but do not know their history or who they are.
The Moors enjoyed seeing visuals and history of Mohammed, Buddha and Confucius and other great history that was presented at the museum. Some of the pictures are below of the Moors being out among the people.
