Moors Participating In The 2012 West Indian American Day Parade

On September 3, 2012, New York Republic representatives, members, Citizens and students of Moorish Science Temple, The Divine and National Movement of North America, Inc, No.13, The Moorish American National Republic took part in the 2012 West Indian American Day Parade. The Moors showed our Caribbean family that they have another connection besides the Caribbean history most may have heard or was taught in school. The Moors and Moabitess marched among politicians and State officials and different organizations to show the political presence of Moorish Americans in New York Republic. When the Moors marched all eyes were on them, the people in the crowd could not wait to ask who the Moors were and also get one of the flyers with our information about where we meet in Brooklyn, New York and also our Sunday conference call info. One crowd participant yelled “Moors, We Love You!!”. The Moors had a banner that read “Moorish Science Temple, The Divine and National Movement of North America, Inc #13, The Moorish American National Republic, Prophet Noble Drew Ali Founder”; a 48 star American banner and a Moorish flag. Even among the pictures you will see American singer, songwriter, actor and social activist Harry Belafonte who was smiling and happy to see the Moors out and about.
